Visits to the studios / Behind the scenes

Bains Connective is now located on the first floor of the Community
Center Tenwynegaert, the ideal environment for questioning the
relationship between art and society and reflecting on ways of
exchanging knowledge and experience.
Following this line of thought BC has set up, in collaboration with
the Ten Weyngaert, the project Behind The Scenes, to bring children
from 11 to 12 into contact with art making.

In this project of exchange, the artists open their studios and
encourage the children’s questioning and curiosity about the work they
are in the process of making. The children cannot only taste artistic
creation, but also experience it by entering into a dialogue with the
artists and by participating practically: feeling the materials,
smelling the odours, listening to the music, … and then discussing
their ideas, experiences and emotions.

The visits last about 1 hour and have involved schools.
