This research arose out of an interest in art practices that investigate social data and activity as tools for art making. The field work produces a certain reflection on economical an political aspects of contemporary society and has a direct link with daily life. Here art and non-art meet.

Within this line of thought, BC decided to focus on the young (-18) and elder (+65) generations in order to research their functioning in the social, economical and political aspects of the community in which they live. What are the social activities and engagements of those that are in general not part of the economical active society? What is their involvement? What is their exchange value?

The research field of this Thematics is the Flemish community centre of Forest, GC Ten Weyngaert and it's surroundings, where Bains Connective is based on the first floor since June 2009. The organization is now located in a residential area of Forest, where the so-called active population leaves for work in the morning and only returns home in the evening. Meanwhile, the generations who are treated in this theme are prominent users of GC Ten Weyngaert, during day and night time.

For this Thematics Bains Connective invited media artist Wendy Van Wynsberghe (BE), artist and Bolwerk initiator Marthe Van Dessel (BE) and visual and performance artists Adrian Fisher (UK) & Luna Montenegro (UK/CHI) / mmmmm.
