report on:
one day of cabling electricity in the pumproom, yesterday, with the help of the russian technician Monsieur Mays
made me wonder, he made me wonder:
why to reconnect old shabby and pigeonshitty lamps if new ones are available?
why wanting to keep in the water when it for sure is not good for the building and knowing that Monsieur Mays' pump system is able to keep the water out?
why putting up these electric cables in a contemporary way and not do it, architectwise, for 'eternity'?
why art installation site-specific interventions with old metal junk, that keep on annoying the placement of the ladder?
why the 'problematic' issues of Monsieur Mays wanting to feed poor little wild cats, and Aki's (who has to live near them, and smell them) constant refusal to stop chasing them away?
why conversations between them, Monsieur Mays standing on top of the ladder discovering a pigeon nest filled with eggs, being respectful and careful so that the mother pigeon would come back to breed them, and Aki, on the floor holding the ladder laughing and saying 'Monsieur Mays, me African, me hungry, please, give me the eggs, they make nice omelets'?
(talking about Tarkovsky scenes!)
why do I, making 'art (ificial interventions)', with their help, at these moments, feel so bloody stupid and rich and spoiled?
to wonder I suppose
